ANFF ACT’s long serving Facility Manager, Dr Fouad Karouta has retired and will be stepping away from his role at ANU.

Fouad joined ANFF as ACT FM in 2009, having firmly established himself at ANU through work with the Node’s Director, Professor Jagadish and he almost immediately became one of the biggest characters in the network.

His work with the node has turned it into a cornerstone of the optoelectronics research community of Australia, and has seen the user base more than double in size and accumulate 10 years’ worth of tool time toward world-leading research.

Fouad has provided a consistent level of experience and knowledge while building an expert team at the ACT Node of ANFF. As a network ANFF will miss the substantial contributions that Fouad has provided at the local, national and international level. In particular, the facility managers will miss the spectacular banquets that are a signature of the ACT hosted FM managers.

On behalf of the entirety of ANFF, and all of the researchers you have helped over the years, thank you for your hard work and assistance Рwe wish you all the best for the future.
