The Defence Science and Technology Group (DSTG) is seeking a Senior Additive Manufacturing Researcher (SAMR) to join its team.

Under broad direction from the Mechanical and Electronic Principal Engineers Research Engineering, the successful applicant will be responsible for operations and development of the additive manufacturing capability located at DST Fishermans Bend. The additive manufacturing capability will be developed in partnership with DST subject matter experts in order to satisfy the needs of the DST additive manufacturing research program.

The SAMR is required to develop mechatronic and software solutions enabling research activities utilising DST’s multi-material 3D printing capability. The SAMR will be involved with the development of bespoke 3D printing strategies and hardware for use on various Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) and robotic platforms. The SAMR will be responsible for the operation of several 3D printing technologies to support the collective needs of the Science and Technology (S&T) program. The SAMR will possess excellent communication skills and will be responsible for liaison with research and technical staff in order to deliver bespoke and novel solutions and methods as well as routine 3D printed components and research hardware. The SAMR will report to the Manager Industry and Academic Engagement (MIAE).
