Physical property analysis

When a material is developed, there are key properties that can be determined to define the materials. These can include the temperature profile of the material, the physical strength, the hardness, the colour or the size of the material. One important technique is differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), a thermoanalytical technique in which the difference in the amount of heat required to increase the temperature of a sample and reference is measured as a function of temperature. It can be used to determine the phase transitions of a material.
