Overview

ANFF SA is a world-class micro and nanofabrication facility providing access to cutting-edge equipment with support from expert staff specialising in microfluidics, organic electronics, biomaterials, novel semiconductor materials and characterisation.

Node Competencies

ANFF SA houses state-of-the-art photolithography, micromachining, hot embossing and bonding, micro-injection moulding, plasma etching, thin film coating, fluidic simulation, and advanced characterisation in ISO Class 5 & 6 clean room environments.

Simon Doe

ANFF National Facility Manager and Facility Manager of ANFF SA

Simon has more than 20 years’ experience in materials engineering and joining, and coordinates ANFF’s various Facility Managers.

Area of Expertise:

Microfluidics, product design and development.

Mark Cherrill

Microfabrication Engineer

Mark’s main focus is on the design and manufacture of microfluidic devices and components using the Kira CNC Micro Milling Machine.

Moein Kashani

Fluidics Simulation Engineer
UniSA

Moein is an expert in modelling and CFD simulation of microfluidic systems. He has performed simulation analysis, which gives benefits to design and operation of microfluidics and accelerates development time.

Jing Hong (Mike) Pai

Process Engineer

Mike has a research background in microfluidic design and micro / nano fabrication and extensive experience in manufacturing and product development.

Area of Expertise:

Nano/micro fabrication, deposition, etching, lithography, and injection moulding

Maryam Khaksar

Process Engineer

Maryam’s main areas of expertise are in thin film coatings, nanocomposites and micro/nanofabrication. She is also experienced in using advanced characterisation techniques such as nano/micro X-ray computed tomography.

Dr Jason Gascooke

Instrument Manager
Flinders

Jason manages the nanonics tip-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (TERS) equipment which uses an atomic force microscope (AFM) with a gold nano-probe to provide enhanced Raman spectra of the surface at special resolutions below that achievable with conventional Raman microscopy.

Area of Expertise:

Molecular spectroscopy, reaction dynamics, nanotechnology and energetic materials.

Donghoon Chang

Senior Process Engineer

Donghoon is responsible for the fabrication of glass (fused silica and borosilicate) microfluidic devices.

Area of Expertise:

photolithography, deep reactive ion etching (glass and Si), glass to glass fusion bonding

Engagement Officer

Belinda’s expertise in disseminating scientific research and development is helping ANFF SA create a broader understanding of micro and nanofabrication and the role of nanotechnology in transforming our future.
