Professor Faraone has been the head of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at The University of Western Australia since 1999 and has been with the department since 1986. His research interests have been in the area of non-volatile memory technology, and compound semiconductor materials and devices. In particular his interests are Mercury Cadmium Telluride materials and device technologies for infrared detector arrays, and Gallium Nitride technology for ultra-violet detectors and high speed/high power electronics.
Prof Mariusz MartyniukFacility Manager - University of Western Australia, WA node
Mariusz Martyniuk is the facility manager of the ANFF WA node. He received his Hon.B.Sc., M.A.Sc., and Ph.D. from the University of Toronto, McMaster University, and the University of Western Australia, respectively. He worked in the industry sector as an Electronics Engineer before rejoining the University of Western Australia where he is currently a Research Professor with the Microelectronics Research Group. His primary areas of interest encompass thin-film materials and thin-film mechanics, as well as their applications in micro-electromechanical systems and optoelectronic devices.
