Glove box 8

A glove box provides a working space that is isolated from the outside (room) atmosphere. It maintains an atmosphere of pure nitrogen in which the concentration of oxygen and moisture is typically below 1 ppm. Products sensitive to oxygen and/or water vapour can be handled in this atmosphere through the gloves.

Integrated with this glove box is a thermal evaporator (refer the separate entry for this equipment), as well as a spin coater and delivery of dry solvent (currently chloroform). The glove box system is being used to fabricate devices such as organic solar cells, light emitting diodes, and thin film transistors.
